Companies That Offer Support For Metaverse Avatars
There are various and huge number of metaverse implementations. Some companies that provide the best-sold support for avatars are Meta, Microsoft, Sandbox, Roblox, and Decentraland.
Meta
Meta uses an advanced photorealistic metaverse avatar system and continuously offers upgrades and new features. The latest Quest avatar system brought extra customization options and expressiveness.
The new system is being standardized around various platforms. The supported platforms are Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger. It allows people to use a shared 3D avatar across social media and virtual reality (VR). The rapid deployment and commitment of Meta to the metaverse make it one of the most important companies to follow.
Microsoft
Microsoft’s work with their metaverse avatar system is also concurrent across multiple platforms. They are leveraging a 3D avatar system that will not require VR headsets. The end effect is 3D avatars that can be used in 3D and 2D environments.
The company is also combining AI technologies with its avatars. The AI listens to the user’s voice and animates the avatar accordingly. Most of Microsoft’s push for avatars and the metaverse centers around business use with Teams and Mesh.
Roblox
Roblox initially introduced their avatars as “robloxians.” The current metaverse avatar system provides two options. The first is R15, the easily recognizable blocky, humanoid form. A new option known as Rthro offers a more realistic human shape. The system’s avatars are highly customizable, like the Roblox environment.
Users can put anything from tools to pants, shirts, and accessories onto their avatars. The avatars can be moved around all of the Roblox games.
Sandbox
Sandbox has a metaverse avatar implementation that takes the form of blocky humanoid shapes. Sandbox’s Game Maker application usually creates these avatars. Users can opt from various options while creating an avatar. The options include cosmetic options like skin tone or body parts. Also, there are special items available for purchase in the marketplace.
Avatars also have certain elements which operate as game mechanics. These include stats such as Luck, Speed, and Defence. Various items can raise or lower any of these traits when equipped with the avatar.
Decentraland
Decentraland is a rare example of a 3D virtual world that does not require an avatar. Users can log in as a guest. But if users want an avatar, they can take advantage of the several options provided by the Decentraland metaverse avatar system. It provides choices for hair, face, body types, and several other clothing options.
Decentraland has a booming economy also with several options for accessories. The market makes it simple to both buy and sell clothing or accessories.
