Why Does Touch Matter For Metaverse?

Many of us are thrilled about the metaverse and want to explore this new technology sooner. But, as per the report from the National Research Group, which specializes in entertainment and technology research, 78% say they miss the physical touch experience. Nearly half of the users said they wanted to physically feel or touch virtual things like they can in the real life.

Emerge, a social virtual connection company, says that using our “bare hands to feel, interact, and physically connect with people” is a primary pillar of our human experience in virtual worlds, which will highly become the centre of social interaction.

The company expects that helping people connect emotionally in a natural way, regardless of distance, might be the “next paradigm shift” in human interaction.

A recent report by Gartner predicts that about a quarter of us will spend at least an hour a day in the metaverse working, shopping, studying, and socializing by 2026. It is anticipated to benefit businesses. The metaverse is forecast to create a market worth over $1 trillion in annual revenues, according to JP Morgan.

The 2022 Technology Pioneers will be invited to participate in World Economic Forum workshops, events, and high-level discussions during their two years in the community.

They also join the Global Innovators Community, part of the Centres for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Network, where members contribute to shaping new policies and strategies in areas such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital assets, the internet of things, and autonomous vehicles.
